"Champ the Cat"

Supplies Needed:
Polymer Clay: Yellow, Orange, Beige & White
1 Round Toothpick
1/4" White Satin Ribbon
2 Black seed Beads for Eyes


Step #1: Roll a 1 1/2" ball of Yellow for the BODY. Use a toothpick or paintbrush handle to make two holes in the body for ARMS and LEGS.

Step #2: Roll two 3/8" balls of White for CHEEKS. Flatten to 1/4" thickness and press onto BODY. Roll a 1/4" ball of Beige for NOSE. Shape into a triangle and press on BODY above CHEEKS. Press in two seed beads for EYES. (Or make them out of clay)

Step #3: Roll two 3/8" balls of Yellow for EARS. Shape into triangles and press onto top of BODY. Roll a 3/8" ball of Yellow into a rope for the TAIL and press on the back of BODY. Make tiny stipes with pointed ends from Orange clay. Press on front and back of BODY.


Step #4: Roll two 1/2" balls of Yellow for FEET. Flatten to 1/4" thickness and shape as shown. Indent toes with toothpick and press on two orange stripes. Make a 1/4" hole in narrow end of FEET for ribbon legs. Make the HANDS the same as the FEET, using two 3/8" balls of Yellow.


Baking Instructions:
Bake in a regular or toaster oven.
DO NOT use a Microwave Oven!!!!

 

Step #5: Bake cat, hands and feet at 275 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool in oven.

Step #6: Cut two 2" lengths of White Ribbon for ARMS. Tie one end onto HANDS and glue other end into BODY. Make the LEGS like the ARMS, using 2 1/2" lengths of Ribbon. Try making different color cats.You can also put a hook in the top of them to make them into Christmas Ornaments
