Cheryl's Gourd Basket Shop...
Each Gourd Basket
is a "One-of-a-Kind" Piece of Art.
If you are interested in purchasing one, please email for instructions and availability
first. As they are sold, I will leave the photos posted for others to view and mark them
as "SOLD." I hope this page will
inspire others to try their hand at designing and making gourd baskets.
An added bonus would be to learn to sculpt with Joshua to embellish your baskets with polymer clay. |

Gourd Basket
Cardinal "Dad" teaching
young cardinal to fly.
Birds were made from polymer clay and mounted on a
wooden branch. The branch was attached to the gourd by drilling two holes in each side of
the basket. I used craft wire to tie the wire through the gourd and around the branch. The
birds were baked in our home oven on the gourd at 250 degrees for one hour. The gourd was
cut, cleaned, stained and sprayed with clear gloss before the birds were made. The
finishing touches came by adding gold craft wire and red, glass beads to the front of the
basket.

Aztec Gourd Art
Geometric shapes adorn this
basket in mediums of acrylic paint and polymer clay. Gold
foil accents add a touch of highlight. Handle made of copper wire.
Actual height of gourd is 8"
tall. Overall height is 10" tall.
(A truly "Southwestern"

6" tall tobacco box gourd basket embellished with a 3 point deer antler from
the woods of Tennessee, badger fur, bead
work, leather and feathers to make a truly unique gourd basket for the country
decor.

has been embellished with Philodendron and various feathers, topped with a giraffe
photo tucked neatly within a polymer clay setting of faux animal skins to make a truly
unique basket for any decor.

7 1/2" tall with copper legs.
This lovely gourd was painted with hues of blue and lavender pearl paint, topped with
white texture paint for a truly unique piece of art. Lightly embellished with beadwork, a
seashell and a tiny sand dollar.

beachside condo decor)

Large, 9 1/2" tall, thick shell
gourd
has been embellished with woodburning, acrylic paints in hues of turquoise,
burgundy and purple, finished off with natural hemp rope around the opening.
A beautiful piece of art created on natures'
own "Earthen Vessel" to compliment the decor of a rustic lodge or log cabin.
