"Waxed Roses"

A great way to preserve those special flowers from Anniversaries, Birthdays and other occasions

waxed roses Supplies:
Dried flowers
Paraffin wax
waxed paper
candle scent

The above photo shows
roses dried from my last year's anniversary and waxed with this method. The wax brings out the deep red color and preserves them as a fragrant  keepsake that is much more durable than just dried flowers.

Step 1:
Hang roses or other fresh flowers upside down in a dark place (closet), until they are dried.
(I usually tie the stems together with a rubber band and use a clothespin to hang them on the wire shelf in a closet where they will not be disturbed.)
Step 2:
Melt paraffin wax in a slow cooker or double broiler. Place flowers in pot of melted wax and use a laddle or large spoon to pour wax over the flowers. (Add your favorite candle scent to melted wax before covering flowers.)
Step 3:
When they are completely covered with wax, remove them from the pot and let dry on a sheet of waxed paper
Step 4:
Display your waxed flowers in a vase or add to your favorite flower arrangements.
