Prayer Warrior

Supplies Needed:
Polymer clay: Tan, Black & Green
1 Round Toothpick
2 Seed Beads for Eyes
1 Silk Carnation Flower
11/2" length of Craft Wire
10" length of Ribbon & Feathers

Baking Instructions:

Bake in a regular or toaster oven.
DO NOT use a Microwave Oven!!!!

The head can be baked on the silk flower at 250 degrees. Lay her flat on a foil lined baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes. Turn the oven off and let it cool before removing.

Instructions:
Roll a 1" ball of Tan and use the side of your thumb to indent the cheeks as shown for the Head. Place head on top of the silk flower stem. Make a tiny little ball for the Nose and press on face. Use a toothpick to make her Mouth. Press two seed beads in for Eyes. To make the cheeks pink, add a small dab of powdered blush with a cotton swab. Roll a 1/2" ball of black for the Hair. Flatten with fingers and shape into an oval. Place hair on head at the back, curving it around to front and shaping with your fingers. Add a braid or ponytail if desired.   Roll a 3" rope from  green. Fold it in half, then twist it until it looks braided. Form it into a circle and place on head for the Halo. Twist the craft wire into a hanger and press in the top of her head. Add a small feather in her hair behind the hanging wire. For her Hands roll two 1/4" balls of tan and flatten into  teardrops. Bake them separate (you will glue them on after they are baked).

.

After your angel is baked and cool you can add the finishing touches. Take a leaf from the silk flower and fold it in half to make the Arm. Glue the hands in the ends of the leaves. Glue the leaves onto the flower just below her head and bend them around to the front and glue the hands together like she is praying. Glue two feathers on her back for Wings.  Tie the ribbon through the hanger to hang your angel on the tree. She is also pretty enough to enjoy all year by hanging her on a door knob or display stand.
